Statistical and economic information on rural development

The JRC Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) and Institute for Environmental Sustainability (IES) have produced an outlook of several rural development indicators that have been integrated in the Commission's 2007 report "Rural Development in the European Union - Statistical and Economic Information"

This section of the report presents and discusses the future development of selected economic indicators (income and labour input) and agro-environmental indicators (gross nitrogen balances, emission of greenhouse gases, ammonia emissions), based on estimations done with the CAPRI modelling system.
The 2007 "Rural Development in the European Union - Statistical and Economic Information" report provides, at national and regional levels, statistical and economic information covering the three objectives of rural development policy 2007-2013. It also gives a synthesis of the implementation of rural development policy for the programming period 2000-2006 both in terms of budget and measures monitoring. An overview of rural development budget over 2007-2013 is included, as well as prospects on some selected topics.
